ALBRECHT MAYER OBOE MASTERCLASS & GALA CONCERT

Szolnok Symphonic is honored to present ALBRECHT MAYER OBOE MASTERCLASS & GALA CONCERT together with Franz Liszt Academy of Music. This Masterclass provides young and talented oboe players the opportunity to increase their musical experience and improve their skills under the directions of world famous oboist: Maestro Albrecht Mayer. The Masterclass will also feature exhibition and workshop by oboe and reed makers and instrument repair specialist.

The 3 day training will be followed by a Gala Concert where the Maestro will conduct the orchestra and play solo as well.

Active participants will attend three group sessions where the Maestro will devote one-on-one time to each and everyone. Active participants will have the opportunity to work with two mentors from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and professional piano correpetitor as well. Every applicant needs to provide exact repertoire that they personally want to practice with the Maestro. One piece shall be from an oboe concerto the other shall be a famous oboe excerpt. (Please check suggestions at the bottom of this page.)

Both Active and Auditor participants will able to attend the morning orchestra rehearsal sessions when the Maestro prepares the orchestra for the Gala concert.

General Terms:

  • Language of the Masterclass is English
  • Active Participants will be required to participate in the full length of the Masterclass
  • Active Participants will be required to participate in all sessions indicated in the Masterclass schedule
  • Active Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the Masterclass
  • Both Active and Auditor Participants acknowledge that video documentary will be made during the Masterclass
  • All practice sessions and concerts will be audio and video recorded; Active Participants will receive the recordings of the entire practice session (not just their own one-on-one time).
  • Both Active and Auditor Participants will be asked to send the bank transfer confirmation of the fees and have a signed Masterclass Rules & Registration document.

Accommodation

Accommodation and full board is included in the participation fee. Buffet style breakfast & dinner and a daily variety of set meals for lunch will be served. Single rooms will be assigned to both Active & Auditor participants. (Participants with scholarships will be assigned in double rooms.

Application and Payment Terms:

Applications will be evaluated by the Art Committee of the Masterclass by 15th of August 2021. Applications submitted after 15th of August will be reviewed and processed on a space-available basis. Once the evaluation has been completed, applicants will receive confirmation of acceptance, which will inform them about payment details.(Masterclass Rules & Registration) If the ’Active Participant’ class is full, qualified applicants will be offered participation in the Auditor scheme. €500 non-refundable deposit is due within 10 days upon acceptance both for Active Participants and for Auditors. The deposit will be part of the participation fee. The outstanding part of the participation fee is due by 30th September, 2021. Participation is confirmed upon receiving the payment of the full amount of fees. The Masterclass organizers reserve the right to replace any participant’s position with another applicant if the former fails to meet the deadline for the payment.
All application materials must be submitted in English. Your application is treated as confidential material and it will not be shared with any 3rd party.
The organizing team will be in continuous contact with the applicants.
